about

Looking back, one can see we were foolish to call it a revolution. I write from a cave somewhere near Zacatecas. Once we won here with Pancho Villa; now we hide like rats from our former comrades. Can you call it revolution when the world stays the same and only the names above the doors are changed? Huerta had his Alamo all right, only it was the Yankees who saved him. Who will save us? What did we fight for? To be sold up the river and left to die in this cave? We had families, communities, lives - we gave them up to make things better. Now I don't know if things will ever be better. But I will die, alone, in this cave, and I pray god it means I'm coming home to you, after all these years.
